On the heels of his latest “Swimming Pools (Drank)” single, Kendrick Lamar decided to release this keeper as part of Top Dawg Entertainment Appreciation Week. The track features a special guest spot from Young Jeezy, and of course, Lamar’s signature voice. Top Dawg, formerly an independent label, signed a joint venture with Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records back in the Spring so it’s needless to say that big things are expected from this rising star. The Compton born rapper’s major label debut entitled: good kid, m.A.A.d. city, is dropping October 2nd and you can also catch him at the Ogden on October 8th. Enjoy!
What’s up gangsta’s, villains and all my hood-rats. It’s time for your thug post of the week. This young man, Joey Badass, reps the East Coast hard; to the point where he even praises Tupac’s killer in one of his rhymes (“give me 2 shots for the Tupac Killer..”). And Mr. Badass, along with his Pro-Era crew, are also attempting to rekindle the East-West rivalry by calling out Tyler the Creator and the OFWGKTA crew. His rhymes are reminiscent of the Golden-Age of Hip-Hop from the 90′s; smooth flow with tight rhymes. And by no means would anyone be able to guess that this dude is only 17.
Below is a sampler of the album, head here to download the entire album fuh free!
Fashion guru, bajillionaire, rap-god. The man Kanye West has released the official music video for his single Mercy with Pusha-T and 2 Chainz. Now Kanye gets a lot of hate for his outspoken-ness and strong opinions, but no matter what anyone says the man makes legendary music. With Watch the Throne II and another solo album in the works, this video should be enough to hold us over until their release. I also think Yeezy bought the Parking Garage for this video because i’ve never seen such a clean spot to park your whip. Apparently turbans are in style now too.
Got to give it up for my man from Huntington Beach, CA. Producing under the name “Big Chocolate”, Cameron Argon has been churning out massive tunes that combine heavy hitting bass & aggressive beats to form a unique style that’s been landing him spots at many a festival, including Ultra. His latest remix of Kflay’s – Sunburn is a perfect blend of some trippy rap vocals,808 drums, and vicious dubstep.
So who smokes the ganja? Record Time just released the new EP “Reefer Madness” and it’s dope! Literally, for all the stoners out there, this new EP will crack you up and get you groovin’ at the same time. Each song is, as you might have guessed, all about smokin’ weed! So light up a J and take a look at Record Time’s dope new music.
I’m going to keep the written portion of this post short today as the video will do most of the speaking for me. Harlem young gun A$AP Rocky debuted the official music video entitled “Goldie (prod. by Hit-Boy)” earlier today. The single is the only leak thus far off the ASAP Mob album due out sometime soon this May. Rocky recently accompanied Dre-accomplice Kendrick Lamar on Drake’s 2012 “Club Paradise” tour and within the last year has signed two 3 million dollar contracts with Sony, RCA Records and Polo Grounds Music. This could possibly be one of the most baller music videos i’ve seen in a long time; outfitted with gold everything, swag on swag on swag, and of course some beautiful ladies. Enjoy.
