The lines between hip hop and electronic music continue to blur as trap (which is just a fancy word for instrumental hip hop) is on the rise throughout the EDM community. Given perhaps its biggest promotion with Dillon Francis’ newest single “Masta Blasta [The Rebirth]”, the genre is getting copious amounts of attention among Moombahton and Dubstep producers. Moombahton Juggernauts Milo and Otis feature the latest installment of EDM-influenced trap in their new single “Goin Down”. The rising stars provide a fresh take on trap, utilizing motifs from both sides of the music spectrum: fluttering 808’s, dissonant sporadic synths, and woofer-shattering bass.
