Sigur Rós is an Icelandic ambient/post-rock band from Reykjavík, Iceland. The band regularly plays the major festivals around the world and rarely tours single venues as acoustic perfection is necessary for all of their sets.
Starting up in 1994, the band gained international fame with the track “Sæglópur” meaning “Lost at Sea”. Their music is the most progressive and unique of any modern rock band and this has gained them a cult like following worldwide.
April 6th they arrive in Colorado and take over the 1stBank Center. Tickets are still available but will sell out VERY soon so get them NOW.
Let’s all hope the world doesn’t end on the 21st because Decadence NYE is right around the corner! Colorado’s largest New Year’s Eve dance party is back for it’s second anniversary with one hell of a lineup. Hitting the stage this year are ATB, Wolfgang Gartner, Mimosa, Rudee, Ecotek, Paul Basic, and Fury – along with some of my personal favorites – Flosstradamus, Krewella, and Zeds Dead. If you’re looking for an opulent way to spend the last few minutes of 2012, look no farther than Decadence NYE. With over eleven thousand attendees last year, this year is expected to get even more rowdy. Be sure to make your way to the Colorado Convention Center this New Year’s Eve to welcome 2013 at the hottest spot in Denver.
Zeds Dead – Global Dub Arena
Canada’s biggest bass enthusiasts – Zeds Dead – will be headlining the Global Dub Arena, hosted by Sub.Mission. Comprised of members DC and Hooks, this duo is known for their awe-inspiring shows, turning even the most reserved audience members into bassheads. Blurring the lines between genres, Zeds Dead somehow always manages to flawlessly mix everything from hip hop to glitch into their largely dubstep based sets.
Krewella – Global Dance Arena
One of 2012′s biggest break out EDM acts has to be Krewella. The perfect combination of sugary sweet vocals and Skrillex-esque production have allowed this trio to provide us with some of the most infectious tunes of the year. I found out these guys really like to party after witnessing their unbelievable set at Global this summer. The video below chronicles the day Krewella spent in Denver before playing their set at Red Rocks.
Flosstradamus – Global Dub Arena
Through the course of 2012, trap music has undoubtedly overtaken the North American music scene. At the forefront of the trap music movement are Chicago’s notorious party starters – Flosstradamus. Bringing new styles into a sometimes repetitive genre, this duo is a must see at Decadence. Their X EP is one of my favorite releases of the year and after seeing them perform at the Filmore in October, I have no doubt they will cause everyone to have a twerking fit this NYE.
